Yes but its very rare in Europe. If you do ever get bitten by a bat or even handle one barehanded go get the rabies shot. The risk is not worth it.

Tbh in Europe we have only 5-6 cases of bats giving humans rabies in the last 40 years and ita always been when a human was handling it, most were researchers. No unprovoked attacks or bites in sleep in recent recorded history that I was able to dig up (I went down the rabies rabbithole).
