People don’t respect you when you are a good person, they only respect you when they think you are useful to them, be it financial or for protection (if you live in a bad area), their loyality ends as soon as you don’t benefit them anymore. In this life it’s all about making yourself useful. Even your own family only respects you as much as they need you, when they don’t need you anymore you become like a burden to them.
