honestly do people actually think they can develop a vaccine for corona , when they couldn't even develop a vaccine for SARS. SARS is caused by a virus known as SARS COV 1 , corona is a relative of this virus known as SARS COV 2. The bullshit they spout about forming a vaccine in 1 year is just a way to calm the public down. Deep down I think they know that the only way the coronavirus will resolve is by herd immunity (when at least 60% of the pop gets infected). Even if they do develop a vaccine, it will only help as a prophylactic measure (for people who are not infected), and is still not a guarantee you won't get corona. Think about it, we get flu shots, however the flu shot doesn't guarantee that you won't get the flu, just lowers your chances.

Common flu doesn't cause life threatening pneumonia. Also the rate of 2% for younger people is because it accounts hospitalization, if health care gets overrun then it will have a mortality of 10%+

We have no measures to develop an immunity to corona , so eventhough the mortality rate of corona is low, what people don't understand is that it's ability to spread is incredibly high. This leads to a greater percentage of the population getting infected, thus a greater number of deaths. Corona also targets ace 2 receptors, which are located on multiple organs such as the heart, lungs, liver, kidney, and stomach, which could result in multiple organ failure if the person's immune response isn't strong enough.
