I was there once and it was pretty shit ngl. if you don't have a circle and friends that you could go clubbing etc I assume it would be very boring, personally I would prefer any other city over it (rotterdam, venlo etc)

You don't need to learn dutch to survive in Netherlands. Dutch jobs in especially tech and Finance are often in English. One of my friends moved there and never learned Dutch. Same with Germans who speak English well but still expect you to learn german for a PR. France is another story tho. People won't even talk to you if you don't speak French experienced this first hand.

One thing that is good about America is the weather. When I was in California. It was easily one of main things that uplifted my mood every time. Always Sunny with a cool breeze while Dutch weather is nothing to write home about. It is always raining with a cold but not so much as it snows weather. There's also a perpetual grey sky for most of the year and there's is no sun after 5 pm. The architecture from the pics I've seen is indeed great tho.
