There's this guy at work who tries to be funny but it just annoying most of the time

Firstly, he's always talking. Over the top with customers and keeps trying to be funny to you

But he does this annoying thing where he makes something up and then laughs when you believe it. Happened yesterday with something, and today again. For example, today he said to me he was gonna be hanging around after work for someone to collect him, so he could cover the end of my shift and I could go 15 mins earlier. I was like "really?", and he was like "no, he he he".

Then a few minutes later he tells me someone had another small bag I didn't check (security), which was total nonsense

Yesterday's one was about an earpiece. We were told to put them in and he didn't (and he's usually a tryhard), so I asked why. He said he had some problem with his ear, and had given a medical note to our manager, and didn't have to wear one. Then he admitted it was a fake issue and he had nothing wrong. Today I saw him with an earpiece, and it turned out he made the whole thing up.

Those are just examples of this annoying tales thing he does, but he's always trying to be funny even when I'm just smiling and nodding back
