This is my first payment I got for a project that I did but before this I worked for a remote company and acted as their junior . Almost 60 hours of work for what converted to them into meagre $500 . These were my very first wages before I got real work. I was 19 then. 2nd year of college. And it comes down to like what $6 per hour.

I working below minimum wage and got exploited but I was still happy. It wasn't the money. I was proud of the work I delivered because it was the first time someone trusted me with something and I was finally doing something productive with my dog shit life. I over delivered and did not complain

The manager felt guilty for exploiting me and gave me a 5 star review and referred to me his higher value clients and I landed that role. My first real job and real salary.

Oh I don't want to turn this into that kind of thread but I'm doing very well now. Far more than I ever expected enough to live a life of excess

Had a similar rate & experience in my first paid internship, but at the end of the day experience in an office is very useful.

Good job overdelivering, you've got some of the best work ethic of anyone I've seen on here

Tbh $500 ain't too shabby for someone in college
U were being overworked

500 is pretty bad, but the money in ur situation as u said wasnt imporant

You finally felt like u had a purpose in ur career and major choice

Purpose over money as a teen>

Indeed. I treat it as buying entry into the market. I made a ton of money afterwards. Especially the year after. When I had experience and a solid portfolio

@Sayori i have left freelancing. Like I did it for 2 years and then left. Still have my client network and all but I don't undertake anything now. It was fun but I accepted a full time offer afterwards . A job offer is much better imo. Freelancing there is uncertainty. Either it is a massive pay day, days feeling productivity or nothing at all. Also half the time is spent advertising. A full job is a lot more stable and is better for optics too. You get to have a nice figure on the pay slip and a name of big well known company behind it.

Mirin life tbh as you get to go on org while at work, I won't have this privilege with nursing:feelswhy:

I currently make money of the work my dad gives me

I told you before about reselling houses, well he makes a good amount of money from that, and he pays me like 500 for 3 hours if I help the contractors

This is one method I use to afford my diy:lul:

Would u say it'd be better just sticking to nursing school for my bsn in cali or transition to sum a better option that may be out there

I think nursing is pretty good for the effort to pay ratio. I don't need to tell you how much tech pays in Cali same for finance but you need to realize you need to put a lot more effort into these things. This thread is an example of how most people in tech start. Those insane pay packages you see is after years of learning and experience. Same for other high paying roles. Diminishing returns basically. Is it worth it for you. Only you can decide.

Yep, it's definitely the first taste of the real world.

Take it with a grain of salt but I think nursing is going feel like warehouse work. If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose it?
