I've lived in a third World country for 20 years of my life and I will be the first to tell you how terrible it is for most people. There are 0 opportunities for anyone, very low social mobility and most people are stuck in the rut in deadening job but the script completely flips if you have money.

You can eat out at great restaurants every night, travel regionally without breaking the bank, send your kids to international schools, access private healthcare that's world class. You'll be able to afford whatever you want, live in gated communities with top notch security, hire full time household staff, maids, drivers, cooks for pennies, live in large bunglows on lots of land and basically experience a level of luxury and service that only High net worth individuals in the West can get.

It's why so many expats, retirees, and digital nomads flock to third world. A recent trend I've personally seen is many NRI Indians, Chinese and South East Asian Techcels in silicon valley retiring in their home countries after a few years of grinding in america. There are entire enclaves of these people in some areas like Ex-Google, Ex-Microsoft, Ex Amazon, Ex Goldman Sachs employees who worked in America for like 5-10-15 years and later retired in their home countries very early. Like these people aren't that old. Early to late 30s most of them are, they spend their doing some kind of hobby or owning a low effort buisness not to make money but to pass time

Without money yes third world is terrible, it's grinding poverty, corruption, poor infrastructure, and limited opportunities and is 100% a shithole. But with money. It's a different story entirely

Water. Especially if youโ€™re are considered below average in an angelo-centric first world country. Most people wouldnโ€™t want to go to a country full of deathnics even with JBW halo. Best bet is an Eastern European country like Ukraine or Romania.

I wouldn't mind living in a mansion in rural India with decent internet for retirement purposes

Very true actually. Iโ€™m Filipino myself and took a trip back to my home country after having lived in the UK for most of my life, and I understand now why westerners flock to SEA

Iโ€™ve visited Romania during the summer and you would be surprised to see how many Romanians have fair complexion. Most likely from race-mixing. I was in a well-off area so thatโ€™s probably why. Still infinitely better than going to Thailand to get with a Gook if your main concern is getting laid.

but then again outside of said private community youโ€™ll still soon face the consequences of being in a third world society, like the horrendous air quality or the shitty infrastructure or the horrible transportation system etc. one way another youโ€™ll still be affected

i'm planning on moving to russia, how much in savings should I plan ?
Depends on you and the city and what kind of visa you're going on. If you're able to work right away not much. If you're looking to apply for temporary residence then you should plan to not be able to make any money for 7 months worst case scenario (for processing). I'd take at least 10K and look at having to spend somewhere between 4-6k over a 6 month period while you're waiting for your residence permit to be approved.

As someone with a family to take care of I always prepare for the worst case scenario. If I were single I wouldn't worry too much. When I was 23 I took a 1 way flight to Beijing with no more than $600 dollars in my pocket and no job lined up yet. It worked out alright. If I were single right now I'd just go and join the army right away. You can get citizenship after a year.
