If there was another guy who was a little less physically attractive to her, but had a much better personality she would choose the guy with a worse personality every time.

The only exception is wealth.

Physical attraction (woman to man) is based on:
* Genetic Compatibility (Certain immune systems and other biological strategies aren't as compatible)
* Physical Strength
* Lack of bellyfat (less is better, as belly fat is a sign of poor health)
* Hair Thickness
* Youthfulness and vitality of skin
* Physical Size
* Bone thickness

You can't game physical attraction with "propinquity" or any other phycological hack. We are machines that have evolved to maximize the number of our offspring over the largest number of generations. It's like gravity.

This actually happened to me a shit ton, in the early days of the internet.

Back then, there were chat rooms so you could form a strong connection with a girl before she ever saw you. They'd compliment me, really like me, etc.

Got ghosted or they stopped talking to me 100% of the time when they saw my picture. My body is fine, and I'm tall, but my face has never been attractive.

It doesn't matter your personality, that's just a lie women use to justify picking you based purely on your looks (and sometimes wealth).
