Some people say mid mtn means average, some say low ltn means average. Why cant we create a universal system where we know what average is supposed to be?

in a 1-10 scale you're being compared to where you stand against the 10's and the 1's, 5 isn't the actual average.

it's not on a population level and human appearance isn't a bell curve, on a 1-10 scale most people are around 2-3, they're closer to 1 by far than they are to 10.

5 means neutral, it means you're neither attractive nor repulsive, the average person is not neutral, models are neutral.
