Okay so the song is in C minor as far as I was able to tell.

Just from hearing the sample alone, as a musician I was able to tell what was going on.

I will survive by Gloria Gaynor is in the key of A minor.

The song you posted is in C minor. The chord progression goes i-iv-vii-iii. The chords are: Cm, Fm7, E flat, B flat (also A flat in the beginning).

Now the song I will survive is one of the most Bach influenced pieces I have ever heard in pop music. It is in the key of A minor. The chords used are Am, Dm, G major and C major. The chord progression is excatly the same as in the song you posted: i-iv-vii-iii.

Bach was known to use this chord progression A LOT in his songs. I will link you one of his songs that used the same chord progression.

The chords that Bach particularly used in this song were: G minor, C minor, F major and B flat (there are some changes to the major seventh, but don't let that bother or confuse you, it was something that Bach was known to do). So the chord progression would be: i-iv-vii-iii.

Notice a pattern here?

Music theory is such an interesting thing.
