and the answer wouldn't be stricter rules, heavier restrictions and whatnot

mind the horrible formatting and spelling, this is a rough draft of a longer thread

This society has its rules but its spirit is not institutionalized yet, the culture isnt internalized yet would be better words, along with the reasoning behind the culture as well as the values behind the culture

Next we must also understand that at the point of the forum, new members are a risk, its not a gift anymore, its not like a way to boost the sites popularit, that jobs already done, every new user is by default a risk, but however that wouldnt mean that we cant accept new members, but i have a better plan, which would be better structured, and let them get a grip of what the culture here is before posting
  1. neccessary studying of the rules and the top threads(on offtopic, lm as well as the moneymaking section)
  2. manditory read through the incel.wiki and terminology learning
  3. a limited posting period, this will allow them to serve as a apprentice in the culture, it will allow them to learn, before going into deep posting; with this, new members should also seek out, veteran members or cultured members(like me), whos posting style and way they could learn from, before they post on their own
The reasoning behind this system that seems like a punishment, is bc of the fact that the most long lasting communities ive read about in the ancient world all had a similar culturization process to what i presented, i just made it practical to this site, these guidelines are supposed to make you feel sad, angry, it would be in practice a natural process, and a process that would serve itself well

another problem, tyranny(mods), theres been multiple cases of tyranny ive witnessed, as well as cases of mod abuse ive seen, not saying its bad, as nothing is inherintly bad to my eyes, its problem is that some of these mods, like numbthepain, lmao,,,etc.. mistake their own preferences for the whole community, along with their bad interpretations of events, tyranny on this forum blocks srs evolotion and progress we couldve made, again, using the ancient rome model of the senate and the rest, a aristocracy in other words, should help this problem, a form of structural tension in the comunity
What this would be is that cultured and high posting members, along wiht veterans, would have obvious privileges, like a stronger say in the forum, the ability to invoke core rules during a argument, but the other side of the spectrum wouldnt be all that diff too, bc new members would have the power to challenge decisions, propose rule changes, and formally advocate for evolution of the forum in threads
As long as its not a informal aristocracy like later rome where users have immense reputations and influence but no formal accountability

One of my fave aspects of ancient civilization is rituals, am i saying this forum needs them, yes, but a modded version of the ancient ones would work,
for example imo things like annual events, recurring threads, community challenges, memorial posts for departed members and anniversary threads of founding, all this keeps the core identity stable, similar to what the romans thought about their society with the calender, using it to track the upcoming events and rituals,
now how these can be cultivated is through memory, archiving is thus neccessary, archiving the best threads and conversations to show to new members, is a way of showing them the best of the community, imo the botb does do a decent job at this, but that section is too rigid, rarely being updated

all this talk is good and all but the core person who can truly bring about all this is the cooperation of other users, as well as that we should, as a city-state, inforce the reasoning of these ideas and philosophy, so deep, that we know no other way, this inforcement will come like a slow burn, we need patience for it, the goal would be to make members feel shameful or uncomfortable posting badly, even if the thread isnt repped, in other words, prohibition is a decadent activity it just tells the subject what to do and not do

i dislike how all posts are equal, like that of me and a greycel. Low effort greycel threads can drown out mine. Make greycel threads drown out only other greycel threads, so and so

all of these problems would be solved if we just had an effort post section that has been suggested several times already

I also thought this was the case but I’m pretty sure he’s still hard banned since you can’t PM him or view his profile. Also, he hasn’t posted ever since the ban.
