The other day one construction worker was slapped and knocked to the ground by the bouncer in the nearest bar to my residence while I was taking a walk on the road beside it, it’s a cheap bar tbh with really low ambience and less service cost made for hardcore drinkers. This construction worker, early 40s maybe was physically shouting and running away without paying a single penny to the bar, the people pressed him but he fiddled between them and started to run. THAAAAPP!! The slap sound was insane. Wish I recorded it.
Every time I drive my sports sedan through that same road this same bouncer who’s there all the time recognises me, gives out a slight nod or grin, I’m way physically of smaller size but if I visited that bar rn, drink all I can and said I didn’t have the money at the given moment I bet they’ll respectfully allow me to pay me later after maybe exchanging my contacts. Why? Because they see me rolling alone in my car worth more than all theirs combined entering into my 5 BHK at the corner of the other street, atleast one of them will know.
That construction worker was built fairly well too, but he was a moron and that’s pretty much about it.
What I mean by this point is that, showing that you are a civil person allows you to move forward in life without instigating real physical fights. Exception is only if you live in some favela. In a world where CCTV’s and police are 5 business minutes for one call away physical fights are bs. Go to a hood area, start a physical fight, make the other guy lose and he’ll have his gun to your head to say sorry. That’s just how it is these days if you do really wanna instigate fights.
If you go to work in a third world slum of a bar or a hotel as a blue collar cleaner and got caught stealing away some alcohol or any stuff there’s a high chance you’ll get physically pressed but such isn’t the case of people who are civilised, high status, work in affluent societies who are more likely to be under “I’ll call the police” rather than do anything physically.
Status intimidation is a real thing, you will get scolded at and your vacation timings controlled by a balding 5’4 trucel boss just because he worked harder than you and in a better position financially and in a job where he’s your boss/manager in your corporate work and coming from a civilised POV there’s nothing you can do about it but obey. Physical intimidation by being 250lb bouncer is always a cheap look compared to the intimidation by status.
