They are naive people thinking the Earth is a paradise but humans corrupt it. They have to think disease outbreaks are made by humans so their bluepilled ideas about the just world, the beautiful Earth, Mother Nature are not challenged.

There are thousands of identified virus, ~200 give humans diseases, and there are propably many to be discovered (frozen in ice, or in isolated areas). Plus virus mutate.

Diseases are there for millenias, and especially since humans stopped being hunter gatherers and began living in cities (diseases spred more easily when many people are concentrated in a small area).
