Tired of acne and hyperpigmentation and im pretty sure its hormonal. it ruins my appearance

Yes I eat clean, i have a basic non toxic skincare routine (benzoyl 4% moisturizer niacinamide), i sleep, i drink water, i already supplement b5, and im on 15mg of mk677 for about 10 ish or more days now.

What do you guys think of taking 180,000 IU+ of beta carotene for a while to get rid of acne then hop off forever or take 25k iu a day? is it cope?

check your vitamin A levels before taking beta carotene

Beta carotene is good but zinc is much better for acne. You can overdose in zinc with no effect since it doesnt get into your blood not like calcium and magnesium. I was fucking tired of my acne i cleared it when i overdosed 100mg a day

i alr eat high zinc diet and supplement 50 currently i doubt taking 100 instead of 50 will do anything. unless u mean going over by 100 so like 150+ then maybe. but i heard that too much zinc can actually lower test so im not sure

where the fuck do people come up with this shit lmao no of course its not retarded af just some trolls sperading misinformation:ROFLMAO:
Yes, isotretinoin (Accutane) can lower insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels. This is one of the mechanisms by which isotretinoin treats acne.

Explanation
  • Isotretinoin reduces IGF-1 levels by upregulating P53 expression.

  • IGF-1 induces the expression of 5-α reductase, which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

  • Isotretinoin's reduction of IGF-1 levels and androgen activity can help treat acne.
Additional effects of isotretinoin
  • Isotretinoin can also reduce levels of insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP3).

  • Isotretinoin can also decrease levels of growth hormone (GH).

  • Isotretinoin can also reduce levels of AR in the skin of male acne patients.

Short-term isotretinoin treatment decreases insulin-like growth factor-1 and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 levels: does isotretinoin affect growth hormone physiology?

Abstract

Background: Isotretinoin is an effective treatment for acne vulgaris. However, it has numerous side-effects. It was previously reported that serum growth hormone (GH) levels decreased with isotretinoin treatment.
Objectives: To analyse whether isotretinoin has any effects on insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP3) and GH levels.
Methods: Forty-seven patients aged 21.5 +/- 5.1 years (mean +/- SD) with acne vulgaris were included in this study. Isotretinoin therapy was initiated at a dose of 0.5-0.75 mg kg(-1) daily and then adjusted to 0.88 mg kg(-1) daily as maintenance dosage after 1 month. Screening for biochemical and hormonal parameters was performed just before initiation and after 3 months of isotretinoin treatment.
Results: IGF-1 and IGFBP3 levels decreased significantly after treatment (P < 0.01), while GH levels did not change. Post-treatment, significant increases were seen in aspartate aminotransferase, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (P < 0.0001) while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly decreased (P < 0.0001).
Conclusions: Isotretinoin therapy may have an effect on GH physiology, and further studies are needed to understand this association.

yea youre actually right it seems that some reduction is seen not significant enough to cause any diffrence tho

Forty-six subjects with acne vulgaris aged 14 to 30 years were subdivided into three groups according to their severity of acne and treated following the European Dermatology Forum guidelines. IGF-1 was measured in patients before and after the treatment and then compared to the IGF-1 of a healthy population of the same age. IGF-1 resulted higher in patients than in controls but there was not a statistically significant variation after treatment. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study evaluating the influence of topical and systemic acne treatment on IGF-1 serum levels. In contrast with the literature, our results suggest that common therapies for acne are not able to significantly modify IGF-1 serum levels.

The only bad thing I’m worried about is that a study showed that accutane reduced 5a reductase (which helps produce DHT) and I’m still young so idk if it’s worth taking acccutane. Although this study was done in like 1990 jfl so maybe it was shit
