I would've preferred we stay with Pakistan - after all I am an Islamist / anti-nationalist. But they saw Bengalis as inferior, East Pakistan got less attention from central govt, and enforcement of Urdu against a majority Bengali population meant it was inevitable.

Literally ZERO people in Bangladesh want to reunite with Pakistan. Even Jamaat e Islami who supported Pakistan.
