I wouldn't call it degenerate, humans do much more degenerate things than just partying. You enjoyed the teenage life, nothing wrong with that. You will probably look back in 40 years and be glad.

I joined the army the best decision of my life. Did a complete 360 after that and left all this for good

They didn't know about it. I was in uni far away from home but once my parents show up once and I was hungover from the night before I felt ashamed and couldn't look at my mum in the eyes.

Yea. It's a shit lifestyle. One high to another high im not joking when I saw if I didn't have my dad I would have turned into a drug addicts.

Yes. I joined the army after that being in the army taught me discipline. Waking 4 am everyday for my morning drills, being given responsibilities pushing through exhaustion, learning to follow orders. All this helped me move away from this lifestyle to become the man I am now.

It felt great in moment but the novelty of it wears out quickly. It was not how I was raised. Deep down. I knew this wasn't the life I truly wanted. I could feel it every time I woke up the next day, empty and disconnected
