TIL: If you take steroids without working out, you will gain more muscle and strength than someone who works out without using steroids.

This is just in the short term, long term there will probably be basically no effect for a sedentary person. When you start taking gear your muscles become oversaturated with water, causing a transient size increase and increasing the available output of the muscle. The same thing happens to a lesser degree with creatine or even just downing tons of carbs or sodium. No actual gains have occurred
