what if the perspective you’re living right now, this “you,” is just one version of you, and it’s not even real? your brain is just playing it all out, some long dream hallucination your past self is having right before death. maybe you’re seconds away from dying in a different timeline and this life you’re living now is just the last spark firing through your neurons, making you experience an entire lifetime that isn’t real. and eventually, when this ends, you snap back into that moment. back into the real death. that’s it. does anything you do even matter?

not too dissimilar from op, but I've read various trip reports about beings in higher dimensions 'consuming' human consciousness as if it were a drug and experiencing our lives as a way to get high, in like the exact same way humans smoke weed, dmt etc. the moment the 'human experience' ends they return to their normal state of existence
