Apple Music offers an EQ setting on Mac that allows for a lot of experimentation with the sound. It's an absolute God-send for me, makes the bass fucking boom through my AirPods Max. Kinda sad that this doesn't exist on IOS to the same extent.
It's easy to access, you just click Window while on the app, select Equalizer and get to fiddling around with it. I always have the preamp on when listening to rap. Here's my settings (you have the option to save them, which is really nice):
