I can’t even start with these dentists. I went to a top TMJ/TMD/Facial Pain specialist in NJ.

I went to him about 6 months ago and he told me there were 3 options to help my TMJ: Night guard, Botox, and Surgery (assuming double jaw). So I went night guard and the pain has not subsided.

Went back to talk with him today and he comes into the appointment for no more then three minutes, doesn’t listen to anything I say and suggests I get wisdom teeth removed and come back for another evaluation.

I’ve heard wisdom teeth removal narrows facial width and can lower your cheekbones and recess your maxilla. Am I correct? Are there any other doctors I should go see (preferably a blackpilled one) who specialized in TMJ? Would I be able to go to a maxillofacial surgeon? I am in NJ and willing to travel to NYC for treatment

How bad is your TMJ?

bonesmash the tmj worked for me

Painful and it misaligned my jaw causing asymmetry so I think surgery is the only choice and that’s what I wanted to discuss with my doctor today but he ended up giving me two minutes of his time and suggesting extraction

I have it but pretty mildly, my jaw usually pops/cracks without any pain, but i have had a couple of instances of it being really painful or even locking into place so i hope u can resolve this quickly, it can feel really terrible. Also sadly i dont know any good fixes that would be of help

Not sure i would go for surgery in my case since its not very very bad in my day to day life, i hope i could find a non surgical solution though.

I fixed mine ( was probably 9/10 pain with a lot of bruxism) by listening to this guy
If you have similar issue like me - low hyoid + recessed lower jaw (thats the usual case for TMJ , lower jaw jamming into nerves) it will work. Have to train the muscle that makes the jaw go forward so you can unstuck it
gl hf hope u have the iq to solve it
