My teeth have been in contact with each other while my mouth was at rest for all of my life, usually with extreme force placed on my teeth due to orthos trying to push my mandible backwards into an unnatural position.
Since achieving a class I occlusion with surgery, my teeth were still touching when at rest as my facial muscles were trying to adapt to my jaw position and the only thing my brain knows is extreme clenching and force coming from the mandible.
Almost 2 years post surgery and only now are my upper and lower teeth starting to have separation when my jaw is resting
This however is causing extreme tension and stress on my facial muscles trying to hold my mandible in a resting position without my teeth touching, it feels completely unnatural for me
