Ok, so not entirely because they're still beneficial in the short-term, but if you struggle with high tolerance to a substance then you need to fix the underlying issue.
Take cannabis as an example (even though I don't personally use it). If you smoke all day everyday, wake and bake, have your after lunch spliff, your after dinner puff and blaze until dawn then you're obviously not gonna feel much from it. The highs you get will be mid to barely enjoyable. The solution long-term is to only smoke in the evening or something like that.
I know it's water, but it's valid and easy to forget, especially in the fog of chasing the dragon.
