Too scared

Too scared to get my haircut since I have started growing it out. Been like 8 months and too scared to go to any barber at all. Everytime I go for a very light trim they fuck it up a little bit then it takes like 2 weeks to get normal looking. So now eventhough it isnt at its best I am still too scared to get it cut. Anyone know how to control wavy hair which literally doesn't obey any laws
