Who had the biggest economy was a big deal before 1970 because a big economy equated to a bigger and better military. But nuclear weapons and high tech weapons greatly blur that correlation in 2024.
Who had the biggest economy was a big deal before 2000 because a big economy equated to quality of life. For a multitude of reasons that correlation no longer exists.

But World Reserve Currency!

I am not sure, but it seems to me this isn't a huge deal. It is probably worth something, but it seems most of the world gets by ok not having the world reserve currency. The US national debt, now at $36,000,000,000,000.00 has effectively destroyed the US dollar anyway. The only way the US gets of this debt spiral is to significantly (about 25%) devalue the currency.
