You can also work a few months in Switzerland for minimum wage, around 4000 chf and live in the borderplaces in another country. Then you life cheap, but earn Swiss salary. Don't spend to much, life cheap for a few months, and save tons of money.

I would say french because it is easier to learn and and you can also work in Canada and a lot of other countries.
