I was handling inbound from calls and this woman training me over the phone was listening in on it and was getting upset that the female caller was stepping all over me and placing me on hold too much. After the call my trainer said “I can tell you’re a very nice person and props for keeping the call under control but we also cannot let these callers step all over you. You have to be more assertive, if you’re too nice you’ll end up being taken advantage of. So, becuase she put you on hold, I want you to keep her on hold longer”
