My previous job was zero hour contract, so I was generally working part time and got to pick when I worked. If they didn't offer me any shifts, then it wasn't my fault, and I got to chill

Then they completely stopped giving me shifts and transferred me to this new full time job. It was either that or become NEET, which would have been ragefuel for my parents, and put pressure on me to find another job. I took the job, with the mindset of it would allow me to find something else I might actually like to do without pressure to just take any job

But I haven't looked at other stuff. I applied for police before I started, but that begins next April if I get it, and is also full time:dafuckfeels:

Now I'm in a situation where I lost the flexibility and ease of my old job, yet don't know what else to do. I don't wanna leave my parents' house yet, to save money, so anything I do has to be close by. It would again be ragefuel for my parents if I quit my full time job to work part time, unless it was something they thought was worthwhile. Not just working in a supermarket or something. It's all about becoming a part time ranger or something

Of course, one could always pull a Debetro. Quit a shitty job, refuse to get another one for years while living with parents and spending all day playing video games and watching movies, then finally plan on getting a warehouse job but give yourself another year before you start as a "well-deserved break", despite being NEET for years. But that doesn't appeal to me

Tbh I hate my full time job but then I remember that if I wasn’t doing that I’d be a full time bed rotter AND not getting paid.

I'd be sitting outside, chillaxing, going on walks, making music

That’s basically what I used to do in my NEET days. It’s a peaceful life.
But for me it just doesn’t feel right when living with parents. I can’t fully relax like I could when I lived alone.

yeah same, you can't really enjoy it unless you're on your own, and it's especially embarrassing when other people ask what do you do

I accepted that i need to wageslave, rn working in a warehouse, but trying to get into IT

If you have to wageslave, make sure you get the most money out of it

Living at your parents is the most important thing for that one.
Because of shit UK taxation at my pay level - just barely below the Higher Rate -, £1 of cost saving is worth £2.38 of extra salary.

UK is really punishing for trying to make money quickly, yes you can stuff your pension to avoid tax which is what all the high earners do but honestly who fucking cares about money at 57.

Hopefully by 2028 I can retire for good on passive income and very small side hustle income within the personal income tax free allowance. Fuck paying tax, fuck contributing to a society which ruined my life and made me take steroids and get surgery to fit in only to tell me “nah ur too old now lol”.
