nowdays, its all about travelling, spending money and having a good time.
back in my day, most people that were in university, both men and women, were hypercompetitive shutins who were very serious about their career.
these people went in college with the intention of becoming cuckademics or something similar in the future. They didnt go there to fuck around like I did.
there were almost 0 easy going students especially in STEM or STEM related fields. And people were generally a lot more sheltered and antisocial.
The kids that entered college like 2-3 years after i did were completely different species. they werent competitive, always supported each other and focused a lot more on having a good time and making good memories.
Sometimes it feels like i was born in the wrong year because i had absolutely nothing in common with my peers who were neurotic and hypercompetitive. I have only rly ever met 1 person my age who i could connect to in some way and that was because there were just so very few people like that.
