for skin thats oily on the nose and forehead, mild acne, and a bunch of very small skin colored acne like spots

acne is mild, nothing dramatic but theres a new pimple every 2-3 days
18.5 year old

low dose accutane imo
reasons:
easier to take pill compared to applying tret on face
will get rid of acne on your whole body not just face
im sensitive as fuck to sugar when it comes to acne but if youre taking accutane you can eat whatever without worrying

word, accutane mogs.
accutane is the ONLY compound apart from dutasteride (and winlevi to an extent) that reduces sebum production. tret won't have any effect on oilyness.

I did 20mg for 6 months. Had no side effects, except dry lips. Cleared all my acne, would stay on it forever if it wasn’t that expensive on gray markets.

a competent derm will prescribe you low dose accutane nonetheless. tell him that your acne is persistent and you tried several topicals, none of which have worked. also emphasize how much your oily skin bothers you.

depending on the severity of acne I would say 10-20mg, 30 is a bit much imo. your skin can get dry really fast and accutane can trigger underlying skin conditions like rosacea, even at doses like 20mg.

this is kinda retarded, but it depends, if you actually have persistent and/or severe acne then you wanna do a bodyweight dose (im running 90mg prescribed by my derm, did like 60 when i was 15). Otherwise the acne will probably come back, the cumulative dose is what matters when taking accutane. if you're in puberty i suggest you dont take accutane, there's no point since it is a pretty harsh medication and your oily skin and the other shit will probably go away on their own. tretinoin sounds more suitable for you since it's not an issue persisting into adulthood for you and its not that severe

Topical tret stung the shit out of my face for no results. I’m currently on accutane and 5 months in I have near perfect skin aside from scarring. Symptoms from accutane have been dry skin, chapped lips, moderate rosacea (in the sun), and lower back tightness. I’ve also been at a higher dosage (30 mg first month, 60mg rest of the 8 months.) Just moisturize and you’ll get crazy results, no skincare needed.

yeah, absolutely. if you have severe, persistent cystic acne you will need 60mg+ but OP said his acne was quite mild, so I suggested 10-20mg depending on severity. I personally don't know how "mild" it really is as he didn't attach any pictures. low dose accutane isn't that harsh and outperforms every topical by far, is easier to use and cheaper in the long run.

true. but tbh epiduo could do the job for him just as well. but yea accutane is easy to take
