In this mega thread, I will be posting about true crime and other disturbing cases. The first case I will be mentioning is the work of Israel Keyes, an American serial killer who committed suicide in jail in late 2012. For years, he committed crimes undetected. Although he has three official kills to his name, investigators believe there are a lot more. He committed crimes across states and meticulously planned his crimes in advance.

In early 2012, he kidnapped an 18 year old girl from her workplace, raped her and then murdered her. He hid her body in his backyard, left for two weeks to go on a cruise. When he returned, he raped her corpse.

As if that wasn't disturbing enough, this is where it gets really disturbing: he applied make-up on her corpse, sewed her eyes open to make it appear she was still alive and took a photograph of her to demand ransom money from her family.

1773692512980

After receiving some of the money, he chopped her body into pieces and threw it into a lake in Alaska. The only reason he got caught is because he was withdrawing money using her debit card.

The FBI never released the picture he took of Samantha (thank God) but they did release a recreation of the picture Keyes took which I just posted above.

Honestly I don't know how fucked up you gotta be do that. I mean you're already fucked up if you're a serial killer but sewing her eyes open to make it appear she's alive? Fuck, man. That's disturbing. Especially when you realize that she was actually dead for weeks by then. :BLUBBERSWTF:

I used to watch a lot of tv shows, like investigation shows and whatnot. Cold cases are always sad because you never know who's behind it, and the victims never get justice. Back in my day there were no podcasts but now there are so many out there. I'm kinda old school though so I'll stick to shows. Any cases that you found disturbing?

I find cold cases the most disturbing imo because it’s just crazy how people can get away with that

There’s one called lake bodom murders which was pretty crazy there’s a lot I can came not really 1 specific one

Nutty Putty incident

In November 2009, a 26 year old medical student (John Edward Jones) went to explore a cave called the Nutty Putty Cave. While exploring the cave, he accidentally ventured into an unmapped part of the cave, mistakenly believing it was a known passage called "The Birth Canal." Believing he could enter it and turn around, instead he became stuck instead.

It took dozens of workers to try and rescue him in a 27 hour long operation, but in the end he died of a cardiac arrest. Since they were unable to recover his body, the government (after the family agreed) filled the entrances with cement. Today, Jones' body still rests within that cave, the same position he was in over 15 years ago.

I'll look into that case, and I absolutely agree because even Israel was about to get away with all that (he likely has had 10 victims in total) until he took money from the ATM machine.

Agreed. The only reason they caught the guy in the OP is because he took out money from an ATM with her debit card. Had he not done that, he would still be around doing what he did. Iirc, there's like a dozen active serial killers in the US who are still not caught. I remember back in my day The Golden State Killer who was active in the 1970s was never caught but a couple of years ago, he was finally caught and that was decades after his crimes.

Yeah, I remember reading about it so many years ago. But damn, it's still disturbing as ever. Imagine being stuck in a narrow passage, only because you thought you were headed in the right direction, only to found out you were oh so wrong. And that one mistake was a fatal mistake. Suffering for 27 hours like that, it's just horrible. I'm going to post another case.

I belive that the amount of serial killers active in the USA is way more than 50-100 like the media says

Background

  • Junko Furuta was a 17-year-old high school student in Misato.
  • On November 25, 1988, she was kidnapped by a group of teenage boys who were connected to the Yakuza.

Kidnapping

  • One of the boys forced her to go with him after threatening her.
  • She was taken to a house in Ayase, where the boys kept her captive.

44 Days of Abuse

  • For 44 days, Junko was held prisoner in the house.
  • She suffered extreme physical and psychological abuse from the main perpetrators and sometimes other people who visited the house.
  • Despite neighbors occasionally noticing unusual things, the crime continued.

Death

  • On January 4, 1989, after weeks of severe abuse, Junko died from the injuries.

Disposal of the Body

  • The perpetrators hid her body in a concrete-filled drum and abandoned it in Kōtō.

Arrest and Trial

  • The main perpetrators were arrested later in 1989.
  • Because they were juveniles at the time, Japanese law prevented them from being publicly named in official court documents initially.
  • They received relatively light sentences, which sparked major public outrage in Japan.

The Body in the Chimney

In 2008, 18 year old Joshua Maddux told his family he was going out for a walk, never to return again. 7 years later, they finally found his body in an abandoned cabin not far away from his home, where his corpse was found in a foetus position inside of a chimney. The most puzzling thing about this case is that he was wearing nothing but a t-shirt on a cold winter's day, his clothes that he was wearing while he left the house were neatly folded.

What makes this case extra tragic is that 2 years before the disappearance, Joshua's brother Zachary had committed suicide days before graduation, at 18 years old.

Most people believe that he was murdered. There is a "he said, she said" suspect who bragged at a party, saying "I put Joshua in a box."

The Vietnamese Butcher

In January 25, 2025, a video started going viral online, being famously called "the first real snuff film"

It showed a man getting decapitated with a cleaver while he masturbates. The first slash was timed exactly as the man lying on the floor finished.

1000026593

At the end of the video, the murderer is seen posing with a decapitated head of the victim.

Even more later in the video, it showed the victims organs being cooked, which led people to believe the butcher was also a cannibal, despite any form of eating not being shown on camera.

Another video was also discovered from an interview the "butcher" did with the man beforehand, where seemingly the murder was entirely consensual, like a fetish of some sorts.

1000026589

This case was especially intresting, because the killer hasn't been caught for months untill internet users started working on catching him themselves.

A bunch of internet users identified the man using his surroundings, posture, pixels of his face and hairstyle.

First, they easily found from the videos that both the men were speaking Vietnamese.

From the floor tiles and walls they deduced that the videos took place near the China-Vietnam border.

1000026591

Then came forward a man - which claimed he knew the victim and came in with a bunch of information like his area of living.

All of this was forwarded to the police, who later found the victim, who was Nguyễn Xuân Đạt, a native to Vietnam. The man worked as a fishmonger and his mother always knew he was mentally ill but never thought much about it. Reportedly, he has shown a desire "to be decapitated" since 2022.

After all of this, a Facebook group named "OSINT & Cyber Investigation Vietnam" was created in August 2025, being a major (and sole) contributor to catching the butcher.

Around mid November, an anonymous user released a big amount of photos and messages of the suspect, which was traced back to Đoàn Văn Sáng, aged 57 and residing in Tam Thanh.

On November 23, an 88 page summary of everything found out was published on the Facebook group, famously known as the "88 page document".

But only on October 3rd, an official investigation was started by the ministry of public security, which people claim only began because of the 88 page document. The same day, the suspect was convicted.

1000026590

To this day there's still investigations being worked on to find further evidence and informations about the murder, as it's buried deep in the dark web and the suspect isn't much of an honest person.

For someone who was so meticulous in the way he planned everything, I don't understand how he could make a dumb mistake like this, lmfao. But I'm glad he did it because now he's no longer around to commit these kind of crimes.

With DNA testing, I honestly think the number might be lower. There's no way there's that many high IQ serial killers out there who are managing to stay uncaught despite the advances in DNA technology. The only reason we had so many uncaught serial killers is simply because we lacked that technology, but it's been a game changer. Even cold cases have been solved thanks to DNA technology.

Woah, that's a really interesting case. I'm thinking about two different cases now. One is the German case where a stranger offered to have his dick eaten, and the other is the case with Luka Magnotta. Have you heard of these? Ironically enough the Luka Magnotta case has an Asian victim as well. Never heard of this one until now, thanks for sharing!

The Luka Magnotta case (gonna let Google's AI to do it for me):

Luka Magnotta is a Canadian convicted murderer who, in May 2012, brutally killed and dismembered Chinese student Jun Lin in Montreal, mailing body parts to political offices and schools. After a widely publicized international manhunt, he was arrested in Berlin, subsequently convicted of first-degree murder in 2014, and sentenced to life in prison.

Key Details of the Case:
  • The Murder and Mutilation: Magnotta filmed the murder and dismemberment of Jun Lin and posted it online.
  • Mailing Body Parts: Parts of the victim's body were mailed to elementary schools and federal political party offices.
  • International Manhunt: Following an Interpol Red Notice, Magnotta was apprehended in a Berlin internet cafe in June 2012.
  • Trial and Sentence: Despite pleading not guilty due to mental illness (schizophrenia), a jury found him guilty on all charges, including first-degree murder, in December 2014, resulting in a life sentence with parole eligibility in 25 years.
  • Prior Activity: Before the murder, Magnotta was accused of posting videos of himself killing kittens.
The case was heavily covered by media, including the documentary Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer, which detailed how online sleuths tracked him before the murder.

For someone who was so meticulous in the way he planned everything, I don't understand how he could make a dumb mistake like this, lmfao. But I'm glad he did it because now he's no longer around to commit these kind of crimes.
Who knows

Super weird im pretty sure it was like 100 bucks or something aswell:ROFLMAO:

In January 2013, Elisa, a 21-year-old student from Canada, traveled alone to Los Angeles as part of a solo trip across the United States. She checked into the historic Cecil Hotel, a place already known for its past. There had been many mysterious deaths at that place and it was a Hotspot. At first, everything seemed normal, she stayed in contact with her family and was active online. But on January 31, she suddenly vanished, and no one knew where she had gone.
The investigation took a strange turn when police released surveillance footage from one of the hotel’s elevators. In the video, Elisa appears to behave in an unusual and unsettling way, pressing multiple buttons, stepping in and out, hiding in a corner, and making odd hand gestures, as if she were reacting to something that wasn’t visible. Even more oddly, the elevator doors remain open longer than expected. This was unusual

For weeks, there were no answers. Then hotel guests began complaining about low water pressure and a strange taste in the water aswell as a black color. When staff went to check the rooftop tanks, they made a shocking discovery: Elisa’s body was inside one of them.

This raised even more questions, how she managed to access the roof, climb into the tank, and why no one noticed earlier.
Authorities later ruled her death an accident, suggesting she may have been experiencing a severe mental health episode related to bipolar disorder, which could explain her behavior in the elevator. It’s believed she may have climbed into the tank herself and was unable to get out.

This although has been debunked and her case still remains a mystery. The cecil hotel tallied another mysterious death into their count.

Mr Cruel

(Mask he wore)

Mr Cruel is the nickname for an unidentified Australian serial child rapist

Mr Cruel has never been identified as police described his as highly intelligent. He meticulously planned each attack, conducted surveillance on the victims and their families and ensured he left no forensic traces

Crimes

On 22 August 1987 in Lower Plenty, a man wearing a balaclava broke into a family home at 4:00 am, armed with a knife and a handgun. He tied the hands and feet of both parents, and locked them in a wardrobe. He then tied the son to a bed, and raped the 11-year-old daughter.

On 27 December 1988 in Ringwood, he broke into a family home through the back door at about 5:20 am, wearing a balaclava and armed with a handgun. He bound and gagged the parents, and demanded money. He then grabbed their 10-year-old daughter, put tape over her eyes and a ball gag in her mouth, and abducted her. She was released eighteen hours later on the grounds of Bayswater High School

On 3 July 1990 in Canterbury, he broke into a family home at 11:30 pm, armed with a knife and a gun, and wearing a balaclava. He tied and gagged 13-year-old Nicola Lynas, placed tape over her eyes, disabled the phones, and searched for money. He then drove her to another house and molested her for fifty hours before releasing her at a power sub-station in the suburb of Kew.

The worst case ive ever seen done to random people by blacks is the case of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

AI summary didnt feel like writing

Background and abduction

Christian and Newsom, a young dating couple, planned a casual evening out on January 6, 2007. As they met at an apartment complex parking lot, they were confronted at gunpoint and carjacked. The assailants forced them into Christian’s Toyota 4Runner and drove them to a rented house at 2316 Chipman Street in Knoxville.

Crimes and discovery

Inside the house, both victims were repeatedly raped and beaten. Newsom was later taken to nearby railroad tracks, shot multiple times, and his body set on fire. Christian was held longer in the house, subjected to prolonged sexual assault and torture before being killed; her body was found days later stuffed in a trash can in the kitchen. Friends and family, alarmed when the couple missed a party and became unreachable, alerted police and helped locate Christian’s abandoned SUV, focusing the investigation on the Chipman Street residence.

Perpetrators and initial trials

Five people were ultimately charged: half-brothers Lemaricus Davidson and Letalvis Cobbins, along with George Thomas, Vanessa Coleman, and Eric Boyd. The first four were indicted in Tennessee state court on dozens of counts, including premeditated and felony murder, aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated robbery. Boyd was initially prosecuted in federal court as an accessory after the fact to carjacking and sentenced to 18 years.

Between 2009 and 2010, Davidson was sentenced to death; Cobbins and Thomas received life without parole; Coleman was convicted for facilitating the crimes and originally sentenced to 53 years. The trials relied heavily on forensic evidence, confessions, and testimony about each defendant’s role in the house and at the tracks.

Finally some interesting topics, because usually this section is full of trolls.
