Turkic tribes are a mix of Scythian and Siberian hunter-gatherer ancestries, while Mongolics descend from the Tungus-Manchu forests. This already raises questions about the supposed close linguistic connection between their languages. Yes they interacted throughout history, but their languages aren’t related at all—coincidental influence from living near each other.

When it comes to physical traits, Turkics tend to have narrower faces, longer limbs, lighter eye colors (usually shades of green, but blue isn’t rare), and lighter hair colors. This is the classic Turanid pheno.

Mongolics, on the other hand, have broader faces, shorter limbs, darker hair and eyes, flatter facial features, and swarthier skin. They’re stocky and strong af, with huge muscle mass, but no definition.

As a result, Mongols are generally shorter because of their compact build, while Turks are taller and leaner. The Turk will look slimmer, but the Mongol will look broader and more massive overall.

Unfortunately, the Turanid phenotype has pretty much disappeared. Over the centuries, Turks mixed with Mongolics, Persians, Iranids of CA (Bactrians, Sogdians), Slavs, Chinese, Samoyeds, Jews, Rhomaioi (Byzantines), Greeks, Tocharians, Rus, etc. This mix blurred the original pheno, and now it’s almost impossible to find a purely Turkic-looking person.

Mixing with Mongols really ruined the looks of Central Asian Turks the most
