Absolutely worth a read. Interesting to see the difference between this article and the one in The Cut a few years ago talking about Eppley patients, in which the article's tone was calling them mentally ill and gently suggesting Eppley was somewhat of a scammer.

Here you have an article where they neutrally (if not with some sympathy) state the problems being short causes men, have a reasonable interview with Paley, and admit without 'it was just your confidence' copes that LL benefits male patients' quality of life.

Are we seeing a change in attitude towards male 'hardmaxxing' cosmetic procedures? I have to say it seems like the associated dating discourse on places like Reddit has completely settled into 'yes it's incredibly brutal/way harder for men and only the top bracket of guys have a worthwhile dating life'.

is that really a good thing?

while male cosmetic surgery becoming more popular will have a certain positive impact (like bimax and osteotomies being more available, better and cheaper) it also means wayy more competition as in, no longer will plastic surgery be this "hidden knowledge"

once normies realize the impact is has they will start getting that shit en masse, same as they did with the gym - a gymmed body was a way stronger halo 15 or even 10 years ago than it is now

I'm not sure it's a good thing either, partly for the reason you mention, and also because talking about 'less stigma' distracts from the real, structural problem.

More 'acceptance' of this kind of procedure doesn't solve the real problem that is that 49% of the population (non-top-tier men) are shut out of being genuinely loved and having a reasonable dating life. Social change is what's needed, not less stigma surrounding risky surgical procedures.

absolutely, having to get surgery for half a grand just to get laid is just the reflection of the beyond insane state of the society right now

women are still sticking their heads into the sand and pretending they are the ones who are oppressed while short monarchs and kings there never was a group more privileged in the entire history

I don't want to spin conspiracy theories but it really does feel like an aimed attack on society, it's all so connected, from the feminism that started almost a hundred years ago to the mega corporations that are pushing this ideologies while tech giants enforce them supremely (misandry allowed on every major platform, banning tate instantly as he got big etc.)

it's not a coincidence that women are being empowered while men are getting shafted in every possible way, it's a controlled and directed effort to destabilize society by making the genders hate each other

When I contact Ian Bacarese-Hamilton, the UK’s best-known limb-lengthening specialist (he trained with Paley), the surgeon initially agrees to talk before cancelling and referring me to the Schoen Clinic, where he works, near Harley Street in London. The clinic tells me it has never carried out cosmetic limb lengthening, despite having previously marketed it, and has even stopped lengthening for medical reasons while the Stryde nail is unavailable. Neither the surgeon nor the clinic respond when I ask why they appear to be distancing themselves from stature lengthening.

lol this was one of the guys i would of went to, if I had the money. He atleast trained with Paley

I am very interested to see how women will react to the publicity of LL. I've always assumed that women go for height because they see it as a honest fitness indicator, will they continue to prioritise height in a man after hearing about LL or choose a different indicator of fitness to compensate?

'Just spend $200k+ on LL and bimax and deal with way more exacting body image standards to get lukewarm affection from a girl two points below you bro'

The mainstream pointing out how ridiculous the situation has become is the next step. Once they can't accuse guys that it's 'all in their head' they have to accept that the situation is so insane that one gender is having to break their legs and faces to get what really is a fundamental ingredient of a worthwhile life. If you frame it this way you start to point the finger at institutions and not at individuals. It's a bit like the obesity epidemic and how discourse about how newer generations were 'lazier' disappeared when we realised that no, it was just the food environment that changed.

But yes, curious how all these changes contribute to there being less and less family formation.

Given how much they charge you may as well just fly to Florida and have it done with Paley. The cost is so high for the treatment generally that the barrier for most is having it done at all, rather than who to have it done with (as long as you don't go to fucking India or Russia and get it done with old-style external fixators).

yeah thats true, the reason i was considering this guy is because he's in the UK, so makes logistics and pausing my life less disruptive.
