it's funny how early in life those pivotal moments can appear, even for the ordinary person (ex; me). i clearly remember being around five or six years old when a family friend offered to coach me in soccer. i think my parents were hoping it would help me come out of my shell or wtv.

what i didn't realize then was that this "family friend" was actually a pro soccer player in the afc j-league jfl. i could have at least become pretty good at soccer, maybe even discovered some hidden talent. but at that age, i just didn't grasp the significance of it, and i never took him up on the offer. i feel like i would've been more expressive growing up if i did, and it feels weird saying this since i've looked passed this but i really regretted it as a teen.
