the oldest zoomer is turning 29 this year, all the zoomers from 26-29 who have been in their career for years are doing okay, the rest of you niggas are completely fucked. I hope you are doing internships, multiple work experiences and most of all networking. Otherwise you ain't getting a job lmao.
There are no fucking jobs, it's like 1000-1 ratio, for every thousand graduates there's probably 1 good graduate job. It's fucking over.
The government says unemployment overall is only 5.2%, keep in mind they always highly understate the actual figure, if they've been forced to say it's 5.2%, the actual number is probably closer to 10-12%.
The 17% figure is for under 25s which obviously includes graduates, and you may be thinking that means the other 83% are getting jobs so it's fine, but that's not true at all. Out of those 83%, around 60-70% are underemployed aka working retail/fastfood/any random job, not a graduate job in their field.
It's true, i can go to any store and half of the people working there will have a degree.
It's only going to get worse, i'm curious what you guys who are about to graduate plan on doing, how do you intend to secure a job?
@imontheloose what are you and your peers planning on doing? statistically a large % of them are fucked and won't be able to get a job in the field because there simply aren't enough jobs and competition is sky high, all the networking/nepofags will be able to secure a job just by knowing the right people though.
The average house outside of London now costs around 300k unless you want to live in a garbage dump where crackheads are roaming the streets. The average national wage outside of london is somewhere between 33-37k depending on areas, so a house is almost 10x your fucking salary, it's insanity. Banks will not give you a mortgage, you need to be earning about 65-70k minimum to get anywhere close to a 300k mortgage these days. I mean the evidence is right there, go out to any shopping centre on a week day at work hours and it's full of unemployed people from all age brackets.
Good luck!
YOU VILL NEVER OWN A HOUSE AND THAT'S A GOOD THING
