In the follow-up to my previous post about how my gang affiliated friend set me up and jumped me
I went to the hospital to see what damages had been done to my face
Beside muscle pain and a small fracture in my orbitals underneath my left eye it wasn’t too bad
However when I told them I was assaulted the hospital reported it to the police on my behalf (im stupid should’ve just told them I’ve already reported it) and they got me to accept the police to show up at my house in a few days. I told the hospital a completely fake story about an attempted robbery by masked men.
When I left the hospital, I cancelled the appointment and the police said I can come to the station instead. They asked me what day and time I said Saturday and then the time,
I then got a text telling me the appointment at my home was cancelled
I however did not get a text about the station meeting so I thought maybe I could try skipping it. I thought I could say I was sick if I called and asked me why I didn’t come.
Now I got a text giving me a “crime number” and telling me they will tell me the next steps to confirm starting the investigation.
Now I don’t know what to do, I can’t lie to the police especially because they can see CCTV footage and I would go under investigation if I’m found out.
At the same time it’s risky to tell the truth. I don’t know if I can withdraw a request to report a crime at this point especially for something serious as assault. I also don’t want to get attacked by my former friend, maybe I could tell the truth and ask them to not pursue the case?
Any UKcels with knowledge of the law?
