URGENT - EATING AS A TEENAGER

I was told to eat in a surplus as im 15 and still growing in order to maximise bone mass. But like I don’t really wanna get fat if im being honest and wanna stay relatively lean with a lean face? Can u guys lmk if eating at my maintenance or even a bit higher will cause me to gain fat/face fat? Or will it not cos like my metabolism is faster as a teen?
 
If you eat more calories than you need to you will always gain some amount of body fat, however being in a small surplus of 125–250 calories will not make you gain any massive amount of fat and will allow you to maximize your puberty, do you really need to be lean right now? Are you gaining anything from it? And is it really more important than being 100% you're getting the best out of your growing years?

In short, no matter what kind of surplus you go into you'll always gain fat, but smaller surplus will make you gain a lot less fat than a massive one, the difference in leanness will probably not even be noticeable if you go in a very very small surplus.

Just work out too and you'll build muscle mass instead of only fat. You'll always gain a lil fat in a caloric surplus, but don't worry abt it. Looking big in the mirror with a higher bf% gives you the same ego boost as being shredded. Just don't eat like a land whale

Alright, just be mindful of bulk/cut dynamics. Building muscle in a deficit is hard, impossible with a large deficit even, and even an athletic build requres significant muscle mass to look good. Otherwise you're just skinny.

Yeah Im aware lmao but thanks anyways, I don’t wanna eat above my maintenance tbh but I’m not eating a cut amount of calories. Idk rlly I don’t rlly count em I js have an idea of how many I’m eating

Eat above ur maintanance for more energy to be used for new cells = bones, muscle and fat. And thus also increasing height. you can minimize fat gain by working out wich makes your surplus be used more to bones and muscle and almost no fat
I would reccomend 300-500 surplus
I eat 3620 cals a day whit my maintanance being about 3000. I have pretty good genes so ive gained 15 kg of lean mass with little to no fat in a year. I know that bc i still have visible abs. Use myfitness pal to count ur calories
