Grew up in a typical low class commie block in Simferopol. His dad was a military man, and his mom worked in a factory which made him resilient and tough like all slavcels are
He started out playing football (soccer) but around age 15, he switched to boxing-late by boxing standards but he had that raw talent and discipline and started winning medals quickly. He also had an early puberty like most slavcels
What really pushed him was the environment. Tough neighborhood, crime, lack of basic things and not many opportunities, and sports were one of the few ways out. Like many Slavcels in post-Soviet countries you either grind in a trade do hard labor or go into something like boxing, wrestling, or military. Usyk went all in on boxing and became a goat.
Like all slavcels he also had a buzzcut phase
He also has a beautiful slavic wife like all slavcels do
He is also low key funny af
