I live in Scandinavia, so even here during the summer the UV index is often at 2 during the mornings and evenings, do I even need spf then? I always wear it when it's 3 or above, but so far have skipped it if the UV is 2 or below despite it still being sunny/bright outside.

Or should I just wear it regardless of the UV if it's sunny? More so thinking because isotretinoin makes the skin more susceptible to sunburn and irritation, so a UV index of 2 might equate to 3 while on isotretinoin?

ALWAYS SPF + No direct sunlight NO MATTER THE INDEX, even if it's cloudy more than 80% of UV rays still leak

Aight thanks for short and precise answer. I'll start wearing SPF regardless of UV index.

I haven't per say had any problems (sliiiiiight sun irritation on select days) not applying during low exposure hours, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry :)

reapply SPF every 2.5 hours

UV index is only relevant for UVB damage. UVA damage will still occur even on cloudy days because they pass through clouds, windows, etc.UVA is far more damaging to collagen/skin, while UVB causes more damage to DNA. There is no reason to ever leave the house without sunscreen in 2025. Let that be clear.
