The low set placement of ears and dimension of ears can fucking up ur jaw definition and ur perception of yourself globally

U can see I have practically the same jaw inclinaison than O Pry (except forward projection of chin/mandibule) and his rammus looks more heighty than mine, but in fact by tracing the horizontal line from the eyes u can see than his ears are more upwards than mines for practically the same ears dimension, bodyfat plays a role too

So check this line and ur ears dimension before roping for procedure in ur mind

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the frankfurt plane

I don't know what this thread means
Some people think that their rammus height is short and need procedure but they have ears placement and size very downward, look male model profile for example, practically always high set ears or tinny ears dimension

I'd argue it also depends on the balance between the area of the back of the head and the front of your face.
His jaw looks long as fuck and well grown 😭
Reminds me of how much my brother jawmogs me

Yeah, it's not the ear placement that is changing but your head rotation.
A bit more downward profile I guess but not drastic changes at finish ?

Projection is of course a different story, I need more mandibular projection because my chin is recessed, as my father and my grandfather as well, this is genetics too

the frankfurt plane is very flawed because ear position does indeed vary.

left = recessed with high set ears
right = forward grown with low set ears

edit: more example of high set ears

When your head is along the Frankfurt plane, parallel to the ground, it's the conventional anatomical position of the skull for a reason.

The porion (or tragus, whatever ceph landmark you take) is fixed in relation to the orbit (which is the other point considered in the Frankfurt plane).

Those examples don't mean anything. Even very minor changes in angles make a drastic difference on how one's side looks (not to mention the fact that chico and murphy aren't recessed, just that it's practically impossible to have a visible jawline in all lightings due to submental and how shadows work).

Also, some people just have longer appearing rami, but the line connecting the porion to the bottom of the orbit should always be parallel to the floor in any person with good head posture.

It's so important in ceph analysis for the very reason that the Frankfurt plane is consistent in everyone.

There are no high set or low set ears. Ears have evolved to assume a very specific place within the skull due to psychoacoustics and the sensory relationship between sight and hearing. As @Ocelot said, the Frankfurt plane is a very consistent foundation for determining neutral head positioning.
