no, you got it right. accidentally or not, idk, but that's the solution. odd numbers - cw rotation, even numbers - ccw rotation

explanatioN?

- upper half of the line in figure one rotates 45° counterclockwise; when it's positioned horizontally or vertically, there's a circle in the middle
- lower half rotates 90°clockwise
- when both halves are aligned, but one is outside of the square/rectangle, there's a double circle in the middle
