higher. It is a youth hormone. It declines with age along with dhea and pregnonelone. Anti estrogenic and anti cortisol. Progesterone also increases elastin and is found in high concentrations in the brain. Decreases lipid peroxidation and shifts metabolism towards glycolysis. Associated with playfulness and curiosity/learning. Exerts anti-serotoninergic effects (good)
