No you do not have to have autism to follow certain patters and converge to certain pattern repetition. The most primitive example would be circadian rhythms but a more less thought of examples might be your general daily routine or thought patterns that you might not question or think about too often. The questioning of ones thoughts is known as meta cognition which is the ability to effectively think about thinking.
Why is This meaningful?
Well.... a lot of people here "Rot" - i.e. : "spend a lot of time doing nothing productive which may result in the improvement of one self or others.". Rotting is exactly this repetition of patterns which involve self - hate , rumination and helplessness resulting in demotivation which creates a recursive negative feedback loop.
To stop this one has to completely shift patters by leveraging the external world's stimuli and escape your head which is hard but probable. Once you are exposed to a new set of patterns such as becoming sociable you are then able to use metacognition to reflect of the previous patterns as they become weaker in your neural circuits ( i.e neuroplasticity).
I am also a victim of negative "pattern" following and I also wish to change this which really requires a push that starts from within and then leverages on the points I briefly discussed above.
