We weren’t supposed to see ourselves like this. Maybe a shimmer in a lake or the faint outline in someone else’s eyes, but not this—mirrors, cameras, screens—forcing us to stare, to pick apart every inch of what we are. It feels wrong. Like I’m not supposed to know myself this way, like I’m not supposed to care this much. But everything now is beauty, isn’t it? Like it’s all that matters. And I hate it. I hate how I can’t escape it, how it makes me feel less, like I’ll never be enough. It’s suffocating, this world obsessed with perfection, with appearances. And the worst part? I don’t even know how to stop caring. Its over for me
