The wise thing to do currently is studying a field for domain knowledge whilst also familiarizing yourself with programming. Things like quantitative finance, data science, mechatronics etc

McKinsey released a report saying automation will replace like 50% of existing workforce within next couple of decades. So many people are fucked without realising it. I feel sorry for people learning skills which will be obsolete in a few years.
