Booked a consult with a maxillary surgeon in my area, everything was going smooth until I told him how my side profile bothered me and he immediately said he refused to work with someone so young bothered by there looks.

Prior to my appearance worries I described my breathing and TMJ issues.
He was strangely smiling during this entire conversation it was pretty unsettling.

as soon as I mentioned anything about my looks his smile disappeared, he combated me by saying I have a strong side profile with a strong jawline that I shouldn’t be so focused on looks, he had the audacity to recommend a therapist.

embarrassing enough that’s me with straight posture if i slouch my breathing and jaw viability improves, im not fat im around 16% body fat

No, I am going for custom zygo implants. Needed to be in a hostpital for ct scans instead of the clinic, so it got postponed. Honestly, I have good hope.

Not that it would change much to the fact that you do need surgery to fix that submental region.

If you're trying to get surgery for functional purposes the last thing you should do is bring up your looks

They'll think you're trying to trick them into doing it. A ton of ortho's have completely refused doing MARPE's because of the trend of faking sleep apnea, i'd assume surgeons are catching on aswell.

Interesting. I usually only see surgeons saying they won't operate on anyone below 18/19, not 25. He's probably very conservative so I'd honestly just go to another surgeon if possible

Lol tell me about it. I hated my recession and long ass downgrown face for years, felt so vindicated when every surgeon I consulted a few months ago told me I was recessed and would ascend hard if I did surgery. Hopefully I'll have my trimax in the next year or so. Just stay patient bro
