Western countries haven't had a big event shake things up in a while so they think nothing bad will ever happen to them. Even in this lockdown, with almost half of this year being filled with non stop riots and increasing political violence, there are still people who think nothing is going to happen and they'll just go on with everyday life.

Things have become so crazy now that the news just lightly exaggerates compared to reality. I wouldn't say this stuff if I didn't see it in person.
