When you ask a white man from the deep south of the United States what his great-grandfather's occupation was, he will tell you that he was a military man, an ambassador, or a doctor.
If you ask any negro what his great-grandfather did, he will answer: well, my great-grandfather was a slave who picked cotton all day.
Now I see why they say that Negroes have nothing to be proud of regarding their family history.
