Personally aging fucking terrifies me, if I could sacrifice half of humanity, my family, friends and cat included in order to be young forever and not suffer any illness, I'd honestly do it.

The consistent degradation of the body, the mind, the disease, the dysfunction, it's all horrific.

I don't mean aging beyond physical appearance, but on a physiological level. We all know those pretty boys who looked great when young, but looked like they were ran over by a truck when they aged.

It's both depressing and terrifying. Also, there's the issue of death itself, you mean to tell that I spend all this year's on earth, for me to eventually die without having done and experience not even a quarter of what life has to offer?

I'm young, and I'm thankful that I became aware of my fear of death and aging early on, because truly the best treatment is prevention, I'm already doing stuff to preserve my youth markers for as long as possible, and not fuck up my health too early, but of course, I'm not rich, I don't have the money for all the stem cell treatments, 50 red light therapy panels, etc. And really today, the science of anti-aging isn't too clear, there's a lot of contradiction.

I pray that by the time I'm in my 30s and 40s, the science and research becomes more clear, I'm personally very supportive of what people like Bryan Johnson and those other rejuvenation athletes are doing, and I'm 100% hoping on that protocol when the moment is right and there's enough evidence from research and anecdotes to validate many of those protocols, diets and supplements, or maybe half of them are dead by the time I'm old, and at the very least we know what doesn't work!

It sucks but it’s less brutal if you are a man, and If you haven’t even experienced what it’s to be young and attractive, in the first place.

But you shouldn’t use Leo as a parameter because everyone knows that you need bones to age gracefully.

You picked like two of the biggest descensions, but yeah

I totally get you tbh. Aging and death are rlly sscary But honestly the fact that life ends is what makes it so special. If we had forever, nothing would feel special or urgent. It's the limited time that makes moments matter. You're already doing more than most people by taking care of urself early. Just don’t forget to actually live while you’re trying to stay young

If you're worried about aging mainly from an aesthetic point of view, its entirely possible nowadays to look like you're in your 20s even during your 40s or 50s thanks to skin treatments, fat grafting and surgery. There are many people that avoided the agepill who are in there late 50s.

But yeah, I'm also terrified of aging.

I'm just doing the basics

mineral sunscreen, moisturizer, retinol, matrixyl3000, coq10, stem cell derived exosomes, microneedling

Currently supplementing collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, vitamin d and a multivitamin. I'm probably gonna add resveratrol, urolithin A, NMN (maybe), astaxanthin, L Carnosine and alpha lipoic acid.

I eat mostly eggs, chicken and fish, alongside vegetables and bread. I don't really consume any sugar.

I use an oura ring to track my sleep and try to make sure its optimal. Same with stress.

I'm also gonna use viome to test my biological age and gut health and take their advice.

in the end this probably wont do much, but its better than nothing. That enchanted_elixir guy is the most knowledgeable person on this subject.

Oh and I will probably get fat grafting and prp to fix my nasolabial folds :dafuckfeels:.

I look at my generations of family when at a gathering

And it is truly sad and hard to imagine being 60 years old

But in aging, men have it so much better than women

Same, I like to have a optimistic point of view though, most fields have been improving exponentially, and with tools like AI becoming more efficient and readily available I honestly think anti-aging or some way of reversing it could exist in the near near future. If not It'd probably be my area of study after graduation and progressing in my career, but academia isn't really my cup.

Edit: make a thread of all the things you do to preserve your "youth markers"

i'm 56 i know all about it. at some point you're just too exhausted to care anymore. thoughts that use to give me heart palpitations, claustrophobia, and restlessness, just trigger nothing anymore. i've accepted that it's gonna be over soon and that i've given all i could give, and there's nothing i can do to stave off the inevitable

hopefully by the second or third half of this century we will be living in a sort of biological utopia, where we can look and feel however we want.

90% of us gonna live for only 5 years anyways so who cares. You should be worrying about dalits

well vegetables are known to have benefits, especially for the purposes of anti aging. I'm open to hearing your thoughts though. Why would you consider vegetables to be bad. and if you don't mind me asking how old are you?
