for poor people (10-30k budget):
bmw F series, mercedes from 2010s, some audis like A5, A7, A8, chevrolet camaro, mustang

realistic expensive car for average person:
E63, C63 AMG benz, BMW M-lites or M performance, audi s or rs class, some of the porsches, corvettes.

rich people:
audi r8, porsche 911, cheaper lambos, maybach, brabuses.

you made it in life:
any mclaren, lambo, ferarri, rolls royce, koenigsegg and other exotic cars



id say most of use here can aim for the realistic category. if you are young, id say getting M class bmw as an example, tuning it to get better sound, better look and you are pretty much considered a cool person. atleast in my country, foids worship BMWs here, and for the dudes owning a BMW makes you cool and gives you status. and if the BMW is M performance, then you can literally almost get to fuck every girl there.

disagree really, many people dont understand the worth of the cars.

great example is mercedes - show an average girl S class and C class (not the interior tho) and she will think they cost the same really. only rich people and those who have car knowledge will admire the S class.

also i remember, when i have shown one girl bmw i8 and asked what does she think the price of it is. she literally said 100-150k, when you can get used one for as low as 40s

then also lets take some generation of cars that had the same look for a lot of years. the b8 audi from first year (2008) will look almost the same worth as b8.5 from the last year of its gen (2015).

also like the same car but with different engines - bmw 550 will look to people the same as bmw 520, despite having much stronger engine.
