Blaming yourself, your looks, and even your mentality or behavior is all too simplistic, egotistical, and immature. For me it was parents who did not socialize me properly past a certain age, they did not get me around enough people, not even my cousins. And we kept moving, I went to 3 different high schools and only lasted 1.5 year in college. Every time I moved, my social capital reset to zero, and I’m not NT enough to build it up on my own. So isolation is my default.

I wasn’t bullied or subject to deep trauma like a lot of people who are more socially successful than I am are. Not being NT didn’t help, but at times I had a lot people really giving me the chance. I just couldn’t hang onto it. I’ve never had enough time with the right people in my life. Proximity is everything.
